Exhale
So, my dissertation is finished, or at least I have stopped working on it. I dropped it off at the binders yesterday, stood and stared at the alcohol section in the student grocery shop, realised it was only noon, got on the bus back into town and cried quickly and quietly. The whole reason we moved to the UK was for me to go back to Uni and it has been an intense year in many ways. I have never put my heart soul into something as much as I did my schoolwork this year. Although there were things about the year that weren't as I expected, I am quite sure that things were as they were supposed to be. I learned a lot. Now that I'm finished, we are really thinking about all of the packing and saying goodbye that we have to do before we leave for Canada. I'm going to Ireland next week to spend some time with my mum and family and to attend a friend's wedding. Tonight I spoke with another old friend who has just had a baby. Life is pretty exciting whichever way you look at it. LJ and I are looking forward to seeing where the next year or two will take us. Making the plans to apply for Uni again, doing it and actually moving here knowing no-one, starting again and making it work, has given us a lot of faith in ourselves.
Yeah, so I'm basking in the glory of dissertation-completion. There's certainly a bit of a rosy-glow to it all (despite all those revisions I wish I'd made!).
Kuhnian Tuesday for sure next week.
